Our Vision

Our vision is to direct transformational community-driven research in substance use and mental health interventions among racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities. We envision a world in which feasible, culturally appropriate, and sustainable interventions enable equitable access to care and outcomes for all.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to develop, test, implement, and disseminate interventions to improve the lives of individuals living with substance use disorders and mental illness and their communities.

EQUITY

We pursue and promote feasible, culturally appropriate, and sustainable interventions for health disparities populations with substance use disorders and mental illness.

 

We promote equitable access to effective interventions for people living with substance use disorders and mental illness. 

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

Our research is rooted in community partnerships and we value our relationships with community partners.

We support shared decision making, collaboration, and community self-determination. 

RECIPROCITY

We celebrate diverse worldviews and value all forms of knowledge shared between community partners and university researchers.

 

Our research outcomes are translated back to the community.
